Job Description

The Automotive Sales Manager is responsible for the efficient and profitable operation of the Sales team. This position is classified as exempt from applicable wage and hour laws. Following is a list of certain minimum required duties, responsibilities and qualifications associated with the position, subject to applicable law. Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for hiring, training, and supervising all sales department personnel, as well as monitoring their performance in meeting sales quota
  • Exhibits a professional management style that sets the example for enthusiasm, respectfulness, productivity, and accountability
  • Collaborates with GM or GSM in creating goals and objectives for the department
  • Maintains minimum target sales goals set by upper management
  • Accountable for teams daily performance metrics in sales, CRM utilization, appointments, and follow up calls
  • Builds rapport with customers to establish customer network
  • Follows up with existing customers to confirm satisfaction and generates future leads
  • Completes accurate paperwork accompanying vehicle sales
  • Maintains highest ethical standards and utilizes legal and ethical selling techniques
  • Maintains CSI scores and survey returns at or above company standards
  • Ensures that Sales Team is compliant with government regulations (ie. Safeguards rules, Compli %, OSHA standards) and adheres to company policies
  • Manages all other aspects of the Sales Department
  • Follows company safety procedures and policies

  • Individuals employed in this position must demonstrate sufficient computer literacy
  • Individuals employed in this position must possess a valid driver's license in good standing
  • Individuals employed in this position must be able to enter and exit vehicles to demonstrate features and options
  • Individual employed in this position must possess a positive attitude and commitment to adhere to and administer company policies, procedures and standards
  • Individuals employed in this position must have required factory certifications and ensure that all team members have required factory certifications as well
  • Individual employed in this position must maintain business sold within market area according to factory guidelines and maintains CSI index in accordance to manufacturer's standards
